Who am I?
My name is Sloane Singleton. It was a no brainer for my elementary music business to be titled “Music with Mrs. Sing” because of my musical name! Believe it or not, my maiden name was Stafford, seems like I was destined to be a music teacher! My main instruments are French horn, harp and piano but I love playing ukulele in my classroom!
What do I do?
I teach elementary music, Kindergarten through 6th grade band. I also have a 4-6th grade chorus! My chorus has at least 3 elementary music concerts each year, including a Veteran’s Day concert/program, a Christmas concert and a spring concert in May. I also help with Kindergarten and 6th grade graduations, and several other programs throughout the year!
When did I start teaching?
My teaching story is a bit unconventional. I taught elementary music for two years in a rough area and decided teaching wasn’t for me. I got a job at a carpet company and eventually worked my way into the marketing field, which I LOVED. Although I loved marketing, I love music more and thought about teaching the entire five years I was away from it. My time in marketing has helped tremendously in the classroom and I’m SO happy to be back. This upcoming school year 2023-2024 will be my 6th year in the classroom!
Where am I?

Why did I start a blog?
When I started teaching, online resources weren’t as easy to find as they are today! I want to help first year elementary music teachers and seasoned elementary music teachers manage their work life balance better! We deserve to make beautiful music and beautiful memories with our students AND families!
